Civil wars are responsible for much of the deadly conflict in the world today: Syria, South Sudan, and Iraq to name a few of the most brutal. And while civil war is not something that Canada has in its own historical memory, the same cannot be said for some very close allies and neighbours. The Agenda welcomes David Armitage, a professor of history at Harvard University, to discuss insights from his new book, "Civil Wars: A History of Ideas."
